Botswana leader lauds HH for debt restructuring deal

President of Botswana MOKGWEETSI MASISI has praised President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA in the manner he is managing the affairs of the country, particularly the external debt.

Dr. MASISI says what Zambia has achieved under the leadership of Mr. HICHILEMA, is an assurance of a good future for the ordinary Zambians.

And President HICHILEMA says Zambia will not be allowed to go back to the debt crisis again.

The two heads of state were speaking in Livingstone today during the signing of TEN Memoranda of Understanding aimed at enhancing ties and mutual cooperation between the two countries.

The Ten signed MoUs include; the Agreement to establish the Bi-National Commission, the MoU on political consultations , MoU on cooperation in the field of health and MoUs on agriculture and livestock,

Others include MoU on cooperation in the field of geo-science, mining, minerals and value addition and cooperation in science, technology and innovation.

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA and his Botswana counterpart, MOKGWEETSI MASISI, witnessed the signing of the ten MoUs, in Livingstone today.

And speaking after the signing of the MoUs, President HICHILEMA said there is need for Zambia to continue building on the laid foundations in order to accelerate development.

Mr. HICHILEMA said Zambia’s signing of the MoUs calls for hard work to achieve the set objectives.

And Dr. MASISI said the bilateral relationship between Botswana and Zambia is at a level never seen before.
