BOARD CONTROLS TIGHTENED

Authorities on the Copperbelt have tightened border controls to prevent the smuggling of mealie-meal into the Democratic Republic of Congo -DRC.
Copperbelt Province Minister, Japhen Mwakalombe announced the creation of a team of security enforcement agencies to enhance security, along border areas with the DRC.
Mr. Mwakalombe has held a meeting with retailers, law enforcement agencies and officials from the Zambia Revenue Authority -ZRA- in Ndola on the Copperbelt, to see how best the situation can be addressed.
ZANIS reports that Mr. Mwakalombe further said smuggling is not allowed in Zambia and people should learn to abide by the law.
