BISHOPS COUNCIL TO EMBARK ON VOTER EDUCATION

By Patricia Banda:

The Bishops Council of Zambia says it has partnered with the Electoral Commission of Zambia to start voter education in all 10 provinces of the council.

Bishops Council of Zambia Vice President and Spokesperson Charles Phiri says the Council had a very fruitful meeting with the ECZ on the matter.

Reverend Phiri explained that the council will sensitise the people on various issues such as the importance of voting and not being used as tools of political violence.

He was speaking in Lusaka today during a media seminar.

And Development Activist Canisius Banda has encouraged the Council of Bishops to ensure that they preach peace and unity to its members.

Dr Banda explained that this is because the country will be going for general election in August this year.

He has further encouraged the Council of Bishops to get abreast on the COVID 19 in order to provide members with vital information on the pandemic.
