“Bill 10 Boycott Unfortunate”

Alliance for Community Action – ACA- has described attempts by opposition Members of Parliament to boycott the constitution amendment bill when it is presented in parliament as unfortunate. ACA Information and Advocacy Officer Jimmy Maliseni  says MPs have the mandate to engage and debate amongst themselves.Mr. Maliseni  says boycotting the process will mean the country will keep going back to a constitution making progress because there is no consensus among stakeholders. He says all voices are required for the country to be successful in the constitution making process. Mr. Maliseni has also called on religious leaders to exercise leadership as the church is a legitimate body required to add its voice to the process. He was speaking when his Organization made submissions to the select committee appointed to scrutinize the constitution amendment bill of 2019.
