BIG DAY FOR ZAMBIAN CLUBS IN CAF CONFEDERATION CUP

All the best to Nkana and Zesco United in the CAF Confederation Cup Match Day Three in Group C.

Zambia”s enyoys in the continental club tournament CAF Confederation Cup Nkana FC and Zesco United FC have their hands full. As both strode on to the fields of play this afternoon and early evening.

Both Kalampa and Zega Zega as the two respectively are sometimes referred to by their legion of fans, will be gunning for maximum points.

When you play at home in African Safaris, there is no question about it you need maximum points. Going to away from home is usually a mammoth ask in CAF. Not many team achieve that even to those teams thought to be minnows.

Nkana host Ghanaian legendary club in Asante Kotoko FC while Zesco United will dancing with Sudanese giant in Al Hilal FC

“Quick Silver” Bestone Chambeshi and George “Chicken” Lwandamina know too well the arithmetics of continental football and therefore need to rally their charges to perform at their best. These mentors are not knew to these tussles. They have been there both as coaches and players. At Club and national team level. And necessarily knowhow and rich experience.

KOTOKO CHANCES

Asante Kotoko looked very confident and it was clear they have studied Nkana play as much as possible and they know the players. It wont be an easy game for the host who have had challenges getting goals as required.

AL HILAL CHANCES

For Zesco United, Al Hilal have acclimatized very well in Zambia and they will think they have a good chance against the Zambian Champions. But then Zesco United are good at home and they are favorites to get this one done but it will he tough.

POSSIBLE UPSET

A possible upset today is with the Ghanaian and Sudanese sides also hoping to qualify and any draw will be very good for the two sides . They can do it especially if the worrying tactics of Bestone Chambishi and poor substitutes of George Lwandamina continues .

These are crucial games that require tactical awareness and BC has been found wanting in most of these CAF games.

PREDICTION

Very difficult but I think one of the teams visiting will get a draw because of complacency of our teams and seriously I hope that doesn’t happen. I will stay away from predicting this weekend and wish the Zambian teams all the best .
