BETUZ commends TSC for facilitating payment of transferred teachers

The Basic Education Teachers Union of Zambia (BETUZ) has commended the Teaching Service Commission (TSC) for facilitating the payment of teachers whose salaries were withheld on account that their transfers to various stations did not follow the right procedure.

Recently, the Teaching Council of Zambia blocked salaries for 125 teachers who transferred from rural districts to Lusaka Province and did not have their pay points normalized.

BETUZ Spokesperson Kabika Kakunta says the teachers are not to blame as they were transferred by people in higher positions without following the transfer procedures.

He has also appealed to teachers to follow the right procedure whenever they are requesting for transfers to avoid such occurrences in future.
