BETTING COMPANIES RECORD LOSSES

March 25, 2020March 26, 202070By Chansa Kunda:Sports betting companies in the country have recorded a 50 percent reduction in revenue following the outbreak of the Coronavirus.Africa Bet says business has drastically reduced owing to the suspension of all major football leagues in Europe.Africa Bet Zambia Chief Executive Officer, Farai Masaiti says sales are as low as 50 percent, the lowest that the firm has ever recorded in its franchise.Masaiti has told ZNBC News that the suspension of Sports activities has also affected virtual games such as darts, lottery and car racing as countries responsible for the ratings have placed their workers on leave due to the pandemic.He, however, said the firm is adhering to all health perceptions set up by the Ministry of Health in all stores across the country.The outbreak of the COVID-19 has led to a lockdown of major leagues and other sports activities which are a source of income for betting firms.
