Below the belt: Kicked on testicles by a suspect, Chiengi man dies, police say
A-47- year old member of the Kazembe Community Crime Prevention Unit (CCPU) in Chiengi District has died after he was kicked on his testicles by a suspect who was resisting to be apprehended.
The deceased identified as James Kabala who was among the CCPU officers who were taking a suspect identified as Mumba Kalwa aged 22 of the same district to Chipungu Border Police Post was attacked by the violent suspect.
Acting Police Spokesperson Danny Mwale said the incident happened on Wednesday when the suspect became violent on the way and in the process bite James Kabala on the right arm and later kicked him on the testicles.
He said the deceased fainted immediately and later died on the way to Mwabu Rural Health Centre.
And Mwale said the suspect who was earlier facing the case of Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm (OABH) is detained at Chienge Police Station while the body of the deceased has since been deposited to the same Hospital Mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
