Ballot printing begins in Dubai

Ecz-Ballots-2The process of printing ballot papers for the August 11th General elections has started in Dubai.

Today representatives of the nine Presidential candidates and civil societies who are in Dubai to monitor the printing of Ballot papers have been taken on a conducted tour of the 300 Million US dollars rich Al Ghurair Printing and Publishing Company.

And Al Ghurair Managing Director, Lekshmanan Ganapathy has explained to the delegation which also includes Electrical Commission of Zambia Commissioners Justice Christopher Mushabeti and Emily Sikazwe that his company has printed ballot papers for 12 countries.

Ballot-PapersMr Ganapathy has also told the delegation that his company was not involved in the printing of Presidential ballot for Uganda but that it only printed local government ballots for that country.

And Justice Mushabeti and Dr Sikazwe said the task for the delegation is huge.

The printing of ballot papers for the nine Presidential candidates, National Assembly, Local Government, and Mayoral and for the Referendum are expected to be finished in the next three weeks.

Today party representatives have starting proofing reading after which they have to sign art works and forward the proofs for printing.
