The Buccaneers confirmed the development in a statement on their official website monitored by the ZamFoot Crew.

The other players released by the Sea Robbers are Alfred Ndengane, Diamond Thopola, Xola Mlambo, Meshack Maphangule, Brian Hlongwa, Thembela Sikhakhane, and former South Africa U-20 national team captain Tercious Malepe.

The team went on to wish the released players the best of luck in their future endeavors.

Mulenga joined Pirates in January 2018 after impressing for the Sensational Zanaco in 2016 helping them win the league and 2017 when they finished as runners up to Zesco United missing on the title defense by a single point.

Pirates now remain with two Zambian players on their books in striker Justin Shonga and winger Austin Muwowo.
