Atlas Lions start preps for World Cup qualifiers

The Atlas Lions have started preps for June 7, FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Zambia and Republic of Congo .

The Copper Bullets will host Tanzania on June 11 in Ndola.

The FIFA 2022 World Cup semi finalist lead the group with 3 points.

Zambia, Tanzania and Niger are also on 3 points while Congo has 1 point.

Both Morocco and Congo have only played a game each.

Eritrea withdraw from the race.

Zambia lost 1-0 to Morocco at the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast and drew 1-1 against Tanzania.

A record 9 African countries will qualify for the World Cup.

There’s a possibility of a 10th country through a playoff.
