Army to leverage opportunities for capacity building – ALIBUZWI

Zambia Army Commander SITALI ALIBUZWI says the Army will always leverage opportunities for capacity building.

Lieutenant General ALIBUZWI says this will be done through participation in conferences such as the International Armoured Conference and forge strong partnerships based on a win win situation and the interest of Zambia.

He said this in London on the sidelines of the 23rd International Armoured Vehicles Conference.

Lt. General ALIBUZWI said the Zambia Army considers such gatherings to be important milestones in its modernisation agenda because they enable the Army learn more about modern battlefield trends and the latest innovations to counter tomorrow’s threat to Armoured Vehicles.

The Zambia Army Commander is among many commanders of various Defence Forces from around the world that are attending the Armoured Vehicles Conference that opened today in London.

And in his welcoming speech, General Sir ADRIAN BROADSHAW who is the conference chairperson stressed the importance of the symposium in creating long lasting relationships.

Sir BROADSHAW noted that, the on-going war in Ukraine has demonstrated the importance of Amour in land warfare in order to create the opportunity for manoeuvre.

The discussions for this year’s conference are centred on aspects of Capability Development, Force Generation, and Support.

The conference hopes to answer the critical questions of how current Armoured platforms can deliver more capability in a fast changing environment and how these platforms can evolve to effectively protect against future threats, in a technologically improved globe.
