ARCHBISHOP CHAMA TO HEAD ZCCB

Catholic Bishops in Zambia have elected Archbishop of Kasama Ignatius Chama as the President of the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops -ZCCB-.

Archbishop Chama takes over from Bishop George Lungu who was elected President in 2018.

ZCCB Secretary General Cleophas Lungu made the announcement in a memorandum addressed to the Apostolic Nunciature, Local Ordinaries, and ZCCB Staff among others.

Fr. Lungu said Archbishop Chama, who was Vice President was elected at the just ended ZCCB Extended Executive Meeting held on Tuesday.

He has told ZNBC news in a statement that Retired Reverend Charles Kasonde, Bishop of Solwezi is now the Vice President and Staffing Committee member.

Other Bishops elected to the ZCCB Executive Board are Archbishop of Lusaka Alick Banda, Patrick Chisanga, and Reverend Benjamin Phiri among others.
