August 25, 2019August 25, 20194By Paul Shalala-A delegation of Lunda and Luvale Chiefs from Angola have called on the Luvale and Lunda speaking people of Zambezi District to stop fighting amongst themselves as they are descendants of one Kingdom in the Democratic Republic of Congo.The delegation, which comprises Queen Nyakatolo, Chief Ishindi and Chief Kanongesha who are Lunda and Chief Njamba who is Luvale, want to see the two tribes live in peace in Zambia.Speaking on behalf of the visiting Chiefs, Queen Nyakatolo said Lunda and Luvale people are living in peace in Angola and the same should be extended to Zambia.Queen Nyakatolo said there is no need for Senior Chief Ndungu of the Luvale people and Senior Chief Ishindi of Zambezi to be fighting when they are brothers.Queen Nyakatolo disclosed that she was organising a trip for a huge delegation of the two tribes to visit Angola to make peace.She said this through her representative during the Likumbi Lya Mize traditional ceremony of the Luvale speaking people held at the Mize Palace in Zambezi yesterday.Last month, fights broke up between Luvales and Lundas in Zambezi District during a delimitation meeting for the Electoral Commission of Zambia.The meeting was abandoned, and it is yet to be reconvened.
