ANGOLAN AIRLINES RE-INTRODUCES LUSAKA-HARARA ROUTE

The Angolan Airlines will reintroduce the Lusaka and Harare route in the first quarter of 2022 which were suspended due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

Zambia’s Ambassador to Angola LAWRENCE CHALUNGUMANA says the suspended routes Luanda, Harare and Lusaka flights had posed a challenge for travelers in the two countries.

Mr. CHALUNGUMANA says numerous appeals by the business community both in Zambia and Angola have been made for the airline to consider the resumption of flights between Lusaka and Luanda.

He was speaking when he met Angolan Airlines- TAAG Chief Executive Officer RUI CARREIRA.

Mr. CARREIRA promised that TAAG will resume flights to Lusaka and Harare as part of the resumption of flights to destinations that were suspended due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

He added that TAAG will deploy the new Dash 8 aircraft to mitigate the losses caused by low numbers of passengers on the route.

Mr. CAREIRA stated that, in the long term, the company intends to ply the route to London through Lusaka.
