ANGLICAN CHURCHES SHUTS DOWN

Anglican Diocese of Lusaka has announced the closure its Churches gatherings in view of the latest Coronavirus cases.The Coronavirus cases have reached 16.Bishop of Lusaka, Reverend David Njovu says as a way of minimising the chances of contracting COVID-19, all churches have been closed with immediate effect.Reverend Njovu has told ZNBC News in a statement that the decision will however  be reviewed after 14 days.He has since advised members that sermons will be streamed online, as the clergy help to bring a halt to the disease.Meanwhile, Heart of Mercy President Reverend Chongo Phiri has backed Government’s measures to respond to the Coronavirus in Zambia.Reverend Phiri said in a statement that among the directives is that churches only meet for one hour to pray and that Heart of Mercy is fully in support this directive.Yesterday, President Edgar Lungu announced a wide range of measures to curb the spread of Coronavirus, whose confirmed cases now stand at 16.
