ALL SET FOR MWANSABOMBWE POLL

By Brian Mwale-Dispatch of ballot papers and poll staff to polling stations in Mwansabombwe District ahead of the parliamentary by election slated for tomorrow has started.

Mwansabombwe Returning Officer Donatelo Singa says election materials including ballot papers were delivered to the district on time, making it easy to dispatch them.

Mr. Singa says the Electoral Commission of Zambia -ECZ- has also provided 12 Toyota Land cruisers to carter for the 47 polling stations for movement of poll staff and materials.

He further says final election results are expected before midnight because most of the polling stations are on the main Mansa-Nchelenge road.

And Mr. Singa has revealed that all polling stations have been provided with hand sanitizer and other Covid-19 materials to ensure elections do not act as a platform to spread the pandemic.

And Edmund Kampape, a Presiding Officer says the officers have undergone intensive training to superintend over the elections.

Five political parties namely the UPND, UPPZ, NAREP, Leadership Movement and the ruling PF are contesting the seat which fell vacant after the death of sitting PF MP Rodgers Mwewa.
