Agriculture Show Society told to host show

Fisheries and Livestock Minister MAKOZO CHIKOTE has encouraged the Agriculture Commercial Show Society of Zambia to host the show despite the drought the country is experiencing.

Mr CHIKOTE says there is a need for stakeholders to share ideas on how to address the dry spell challenges and build climate resilience among farmers.

He explains that shows are a better platform used in creating opportunities and to showcase   new technologies as well as innovations to farmers.

Mr CHIKOTE says the government’s vision is to ensure that farmers have access to information that will improve their agricultural production.

He said this when a team from the Agriculture Commercial Show Society of Zambia called on him at his office.

Agriculture Commercial Show Society of Zambia Vice President RENE LOURENS said there is a need for the country to effectively use the sun and natural water resources for production and productivity.

The 2024 Agriculture Commercial Show is scheduled to run from 31st July to the 5th of August, 2024.
