Justice Minister MULAMBO HAIMBE says the Africa Day should give the continent the opportunity to work together to attain economic freedom.

Mr. HAIMBE says Zambia can play a major role in achieving economic freedom especially with the flourishing democracy.

He says the democracy the country enjoys enables citizens to actively participate in the economy.

Mr HAIMBE said this in an interview with journalists in Lusaka today.

And Luapula Province Minister DERRICKY CHILUNDIKA says Government is working hard to ensure its people achieve economic freedom.

Speaking after the commemoration of the Africa Day in Mansa today, Mr. CHILUNDIKA observed that the New Dawn Administration has already started implementing policies such as the free education and the increase of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Meanwhile, Mansa Freedom Fighters Association Chairperson CYPRIAN MULONDA urged the youth to work together in preserving the peace that Zambia is enjoying.

Mr. MULONDA noted that it is only when people are united that they are able to achieve development.
