ACCESS TO INFORMATION BILL RECALLED

Information and Media Permanent Secretary AMOS MALUPENGA says the ministry has recalled the Access to Information Bill from the Ministry of Justice.

Mr. MALUPENGA says the recall is meant to relook at the document and update the new minister on its content.

He says after the process is concluded, the ministry will call for a stakeholders meeting before the document is sent back to the Ministry of Justice.

Mr. MALUPENGA says government’s agenda is to ensure that all laws that require to be implemented, revisited and created will be done.

He further said there is need to understand the United Party for National Development -UPND- manifesto, so that laws, guidelines must be in tandem with the party in power.

Mr MALUPENGA was speaking at the media and stakeholders round table, discussing the media agenda for the new administration.

And Mr MALUPENGA has advised journalists to push for the minimum wage agenda for journalists and from the media employers.

Meanwhile PANOS Executive Director VUSUMUZI SIFILE said they want to see the media take up its rightful place in national development agenda in the new dawn government.
