… ZCID Welcomes President’s Move Towards National Reconciliation and dialogue

Lusaka, Zambia24 – (8-07-2024) -The Zambia Centre for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) has endorsed President Hakainde Hichilema’s decision to engage in dialogue with former President Edgar Lungu. This move is seen as a significant step towards national reconciliation and democratic consolidation.

Amb Joyce Musenge, ZCID Board Chairperson, expressed support for the President’s proactive approach.

She emphasized the importance of fostering mutual understanding and respect among political stakeholders.

“The dialogue aims to address pressing national issues, promote national cohesion, and chart a course towards sustainable development,” said Amb Musenge in a statement to Zambia24.

ZCID views this initiative as a positive step, setting a precedent for constructive engagement beyond partisan interests.

Amb Musenge believes this dialogue will promote stability, progress, and democratic governance.
