A happy Friday for Samu…As the striker nets a glut

Friday Samu was at his devastating best as he netted an impressive five goals to guide Green Buffaloes to an emphatic 5-0 win over Indeni.

Green Buffaloes came into the match looking to make it 6 wins in a row while Indeni were hoping to bounce back to winning ways after recording back-to-back draws.

It did not take long for the hosts to get into gear as Samu put the Zambia army-sponsored outfit in the lead just after six minutes. He pressured Alpha Lukong into making a mistake following a delay to clear the ball, before easily slotting home from close range,1-0.

Samu was again back at it as he doubled the lead ten minutes later. The lanky forward reacted fast to slot home from close range after Paul Simpemba’s initial shot was blocked.

The match went to the break with the Soldiers leading 2-0 and having dominated the half with some beautiful play much to the delight of the fans they turned up on Friday afternoon at Woodlands Stadium.

Samu completed his hat-trick three minutes into the second half as he again beat Lukong from close range after benefiting from Simpemba’s superb work.

Buffaloes’ boss Justin Chinama shortly made changes as he withdrew Simpemba and Martin Njobvu for George Ngoma and Golden Mashata.

Ngoma could have made an instant impact but he ballooned his effort way over the bar after a very good run.

Samu was not done yet as he headed in a Mashata cross in the 72nd minute to complete his haul. Three minutes later Samu was again on target as he headed in a Jack Ngulube pinpoint cross this time to make it 5-0 and Samu grabbing his glut.

The goal resulted in an injury to Lukong who was replaced by Joshua Titima.

It was now a Robin Siame show as he terrorized the Indeni defense creating chance after chance but Ngoma, Samu, and Mashata could not add to the tally as the match ended 5-0.

Buffaloes have now won six straight matches taking them to 19 points opening an eight-point lead at the summit.

Samu has now netted eight goals and is clear at the summit of the top goalscorer chart with Alex Ng’onga who is second only having managed four strikes so far this season.
