91 Medical Doctors fail HPCZ licensure examinations

ABOUT 91 Medical Doctors who sat for the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) professional licensure examinations recently have failed the examinations following the release of the results.
HPCZ Registrar, Dr. Aaron Mujajati yesterday told a media briefing that only 21 of the 112 Medical Doctors that sat for licensure examinations had cleared, translating into a 19% pass rate.
Dr. Mujajati revealed that out of the 112 Medical Doctors, 103 were foreign trained while 9 are locally trained.
“The high failure rate raises questions over the quality of education that the Medical Doctors got. The HPCZ should immediately remodel the licensing examination, said a concerned citizen, “We cannot risk people’s health at the hands of mediocre doctors.”
