7NDP in $1.7 billion push

GOVERNMENT has secured over US$1.7 billion to speed up the implementation of various programmes outlined in the Seventh National Development Plan (7NDP) for the benefit of citizens.The 7NDP is anchored on economic diversification and job creation, poverty and vulnerability reduction, reducing developmental inequalities, enhancing human development, and creating conducive governance environment for a diversified and inclusive economy.
Secretary to the Treasury Fredson Yamba said the funds have been secured through 18 newly acquired loans that Government contracted last year from various institutions to finance its development programmes.
Mr Yamba said in the latest economic report released by the Ministry of Finance that the funds will be used to support key sectors of the country’s economy aimed at uplifting the lives of Zambians.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
