$5M RAISED FROM MUKULA SALES INJECTED IN ZAFFICO

Government has invested five million dollars into Zambia Forest and Forestry Industries Corporation- ZAFFICO.
The money was raised from the auctioning of confiscated Mukula logs.
Minister of Lands Jean Kapata says the money raised from the confiscated Mukula logs was used to buy machinery and pay salary arrears.
Ms Kapata noted that following the investment, Kawambwa tea is currently exporting tea into the Democratic Republic of Congo.
She said this in an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka.
And Ms Kapata has disclosed that the country has seen a reduction in the illegal harvesting of timber following the involvement of the security wings.
