5,200 cases of Conjunctivitis recorded

Over 5,200 cases of CONJUNCTIVITIS have been recorded in last few months, following the outbreak of the eye disease in some parts of the country.

Zambia National Public Health Institute Director Communication Information and Research, MAZYANGA LIWEWE has confirmed in an interview.

Dr. LIWEWE says the eye disease affected some parts of the Eastern province, namely in Chipata, Lumezi and Mambwe district, as well as Mpulungu District in the Northern Province.

In an interview with ZNBC NEWS in Lusaka, Dr. LIWEWE has since advised members of the public to uphold high standards of hygiene.
