3 FIRED FOR THEFT AT MINISTRY OF HOUSING

Three Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure Development Accounting staff have been dismissed for alleged theft of public funds.
Ministry of Finance Public Relations Officer, Chileshe Kandeta has named the three as Enoce Kasweka a Principal Accountant, Eugine Kausu and Hutson Hachuma both Assistant Accounts.
Mr. Kandenta says Government through the Civil Service Commission dismissed the three and notified the Ministry of Finance.
He told ZNBC News in a telephone interview that Government will recover the funds from their pension and terminal benefits.
Mr. Kandeta also said the three will be subjected to the due process of the law because theft of public funds is a criminal offence.
Last month, 12 accounting and one operations staff who were involved in various offences involving public funds were also dismissed.
