WSL: Title race remains tight as Both Buffaloes and ZESCO record drawsÂ
The 2023/2024 FAZ Women’s Super Division race has continued to go to the wire with both Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club and ZESCO Ndola Girls recording draws.Â
ZESCO Ndola Girls failed to utilise their chance after Indeni Roses held the defending Champions to a 3-3 draw on Wednesday morning.Â
In an entertaining match played at Nationalist Stadium, Evarine Susan Katongo produced a player of the match performance setting up Maylan Mulenga for the opener just three minutes into the match.Â
Indeni Roses levelled matters shortly thanks to a Grace Kamanga close range strike.Â
Indeni then took the lead through Sara Moyo. However Agness Phiri levelled matters with a brilliant free kick.Â
Katongo turned finisher in the 69th minute and put Buffaloes in the lead with a fine finish.Â
Former Zambia U-20 women’s national team defender Thelma Phiri drew her side level minutes later with a long range free kick, 3-3 the match ended.Â
In Kalumbila, Avell Chitundu cancelled out Esther Mushota’s opener as ZESCO Ndola Girls and Trident Queens played to a 1-1 draw.Â
The draws mean Buffaloes and ZESCO Ndola Girls remain tied at the summit with Buffaloes leading in goal difference.Â
