ECL warns police as THABO KAWANA canes the former President
By ZNBC Staff
Police were this morning forced to fire teargas to disperse PF faction members who had gathered at Kabwata Police station where RAPHAEL NAKACHINDA was detained.
And speaking after the incident former President EDGAR LUNGU said Zambians may be forced to rise against government because of the behaviour of the police.
Mr. LUNGU, who was among the PF faction members that thronged the police station, said the behaviour of the Police will lead to President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA giving up power before 2026.
BUT Government is disappointed with remarks made by the former President.
Information and Media Permanent Secretary THABO KAWANA says such sentiments must never come from a person who once held the highest office in the land.
In an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka today, Mr. KAWANA said people instigating unruly behaviour are those the former head of state is leading at Police Stations.
