150 volunteers teach Kanyama Pupils on Cholera Prevention

One hundred and fifty Health volunteers have held cholera sensitization workshops in schools under Lusaka’s Kanyama constituency.

This follows an announcement by Health Minister SYLVIA MASEBO that the Government will scale up inspection in schools and send teams to educate pupils on cholera prevention.

One of the first schools visited was Saint Maurice school in Garden House where hundreds of pupils assembled for hygiene lessons.

Saint Maurice Secondary Head teacher CATHERINE MUSUMPUKA said she is grateful for the government’s efforts in reaching out to pupils about the disease.

Sister MUSUMPUKA said school management has also added as part of the daily routine cholera reminder sessions to help pupils practice good hygiene.
