AFRICAN SWINE FEVER BREAKS OUT IN ZAMBEZI-
(NAIS) African Swine Fever Disease has broken out in Zambezi District of North Western Province leaving more than 21 pigs dead.
This is from more than 11 pig owners in the Central Veterinary Camp in the central business District.
North Western Provincial Veterinary Officer in the Ministry of Fisheries and livestock PETER BANDA has confirmed the development to NAIS in Solwezi.
Dr. BANDA described the disease affecting the pigs as a contagious viral disease with no specific treatment saying the disease can spread or transmit through live pigs or pork products.
The Provincial Veterinary Officer has declared Kabompo and Chavuma districts as risk zones and appealed to the general public to adhere to the measure’s government has instituted.
