BISHOP CHINYEMBA PRAISES VP WINA
The Catholic Diocese of Mongu has paid tribute to Vice President Inonge Wina for being the first woman vice president of Zambia.
Mongu Diocese Bishop Evans Chinyemba says the Catholic Church in the area cherishes Mrs. Wina’s contribution to the development of the nation in her capacity as vice president.
Bishop Chinyemba says Mrs. Wina has stood firm during the most difficult moments she served the nation.
The Catholic Bishop said this when the Vice President and President Edgar Lungu’s running mate Professor Nkandu Luo called on him in Mongu.
Bishop Chinyemba said he has personally worked closely with Mrs. Wina from the time she served as a lawmaker for Nalolo in several areas.
And Bishop Chinyemba has advised political parties to be tolerant and uphold peace as the nation heads for the polls in the next two months.
He said Zambia is party to several SADC protocols on peace, defense and security, and good governance among others which he said leaders must adhere to at all costs.
And Mrs. Wina said she was in the province to introduce Professor LUO as presidential running mate to the people of Western Province.
She said she is hopeful that President Edgar Lungu will be supported in Western Province to accord Zambia another chance to be led by a second woman vice president.
