“NO NEED TO SHED BLOOD OVER ELECTIONSâ€
By Wilson Mulinda- Senior Chief Mwase of the Tumbuka people of Eastern province has called on all political players to conduct peaceful campaigns ahead of the 2021 General election.
Senior Chief Mwase says there is no need to shed blood over an election.
The senior chief was speaking when PF National Mobilisation Committee Member Bizwell Mutale paid a courtesy call on him at his palace.
He said politicians should avoid using hate speech as this has the potential to divide the country.
Chief Mwase said traditional leaders will continue to engage all Electoral stakeholders to ensure the country holds peaceful elections in 2021.
Meanwhile the traditional leader has hailed government for the timely delivery of farming inputs for the 2020/2021 farming season.
He said the unprecedented move will make the country food-secure because of the impending bumper harvest.
And the PF National Mobilisation Committee Member tasked the party structures in Lundazi district to give residents a platform to choose a candidate of their choice from within the party to contest next year’s general election.
Mr. Mutale said this will advantage the party because people will vote for a candidate that they know from grassroots.
He also welcomed over 1 thousand 6 hundred defectors from various opposition political parties who defected to the PF.
He advised the new members to be free and contribute to the growth of the party.
