Edith NawakwiForum for Democracy and Development (FDD) leader Edith Nawakwi says she is the best among all the ten citizens seeking to become Republican President after the Thursday 11th August 2016 General Election.

And the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Chairperson Justice Essau Chulu is today schedule t meet political party leaders over contentious electoral process regulations.

UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema, Rainbow Party colleague Wynter Kabimba and President Edgar Chagwa Lungu are among the figures expected to attend the meeting.

Nawakwi, Zambia’s first female Finance and National Planning Minister, says the country is in dire need of a feminine touch. She says since independence six males have occuped State House without effectively empowering citizens.

Nawakwi, who has previously served as Labour and Energy Minister, says she will listen and let grassroots communities set the development agenda when elected as president.

Nawakwi regretted that since independence, citizens have continued wallowing in abject poverty on account of development being centralized.

Nawakwi expressed worry that political parties are failing to find enough resources to facilitate nomination obligations of party members.

The former Finance and National Planning Minister is pleading with voters to be cautious when voting as politicians continue telling them lies.
