HH visits hospitalised former Kalomo MP
UPND president Hakainde Hichilema Sunday visited the immediate past MP for Kalomo Central Request Muntanga and UPND senior member Andrew Banda who are admitted to University Teaching Hospital (UTH).
Hichilema said after visiting UTH that It is disheartening to see very plainly the poor state of health facilities, with patients lying in beds on the floor and waiting long hours for urgently needed treatment, while doctors and nurses struggle to compensate for staff and medicine shortages.
“What we saw was a clear example of Government’s misplaced priorities,” HH said.
The UPND presidential candidate said through the UPND 10 Point Plan he will build a healthy nation. He says this can only happen if the country has a Government that gets its priorities right, cuts back the wasteful and unnecessary expenditures and gets serious about the fight against corruption.
“We pray for the speedy recovery of our dear colleagues and for those we met and talked with during our visit. Our message to you is vote for us on 11 August 2016 so we can fix our broken healthcare sector,” said HH.
HH was accompanied by Secretary General Stephen Katuka, immediate past MP for Chongwe Sylvia Masebo and senior party officials.
