200 TRUCKS AVOID TOLL GATES

Copperbelt Minister Japhen Mwakalombe says he will engage the Ministry  of Infrastructure to consider putting temporary toll gates on the Ndola-Mufulira and Mufulira -Mokambo roads to ensure that no vehicle avoids paying toll fees.
Meanwhile, more than 2- hundred trucks have opted to using the Ndola-Mufulira road in order to avoid paying toll fees.
Mr. Mwakalombe noted with concern the number of trucks avoiding using Ndola-Kitwe dual carriage way because they do not want to pay toll fees.
He was speaking today when he visited Sakania and Mokambo border posts.
The Minister said the situation cannot be allowed to continue especially that government is losing its much-needed revenue.
ZANIS reports that the Minister observed that government will be losing huge sums of money if the current situation where trucks are avoiding paying toll fees continues.
And Mufulira District Commissioner Hilda Kawesha said putting up temporary toll gates will ensure that no revenue is lost as a result of motorists not willing to pay the fees.
