10 ARRESTED FOR ILLEGALLY MINING GOLD

TEN foreign nationals have been detained for allegedly engaging in illegal mining activities at Kanyelele area in Mpika.

The foreign nationals were nabbed during a joint operation by security wings at Kanyelele area, where gold deposits were recently discovered.

District Commissioner DAVID SIAME, has confirmed to ZANIS that the
foreign suspects are being held by the Department of Immigration in Mpika District of Muchinga Province.

Mr SIAME has further said the various security wings are working round the clock to ensure that no illegal activities are undertaken at Kanyelele area.

He has since commended the security wings for being vigilant.
