The National Road Fund Agency (NRFA) has clarified that the total revenue collections since inception of the National Road Tolling Program are of the order k1.8 billion.
NRFA public Relations Manager Alphonsius Hamachila clarified that the breakdown of these collections is such that from November 2013 – December 2015 the amount collected was K769 million and from January to December 2016 K441, million revenue was realised.
Mr. Hamachila said that K667 million was collected from January to December 2017.
And Hamachila explained that K4.7 million has been given to Inyatsi to undertake holding maintenance of the Kafue Mazabuka Road before a full Rehabilitation could be done after the rain season.
There has been debate as to why the money that has been declared for the 2017 was less than that declared in 2016.
A number of stakeholders called on the ministers in charge to clarify why the money has reduced when the number of toll gates has increased.
