Chilufya Tayali granted bail

Opposition EEP leader Chilufya Tayali has pleaded not guilty to one count of libel before Magistrate Faides Hamaundu.

Magistrate Hamaundu has since granted Tayali bail in the sum of K 5000 in his own recognisance with two working sureties.

Tayali is accused of making criminal libelous remarks against the Constitutional office of the Inspector General of police Kakoma Kanganja.

Tayali accused the IG of conspiring to implicate Hakainde Hichilema in blocking the Presidential motorcade in Mongu.

He went on to state that Mr Kanganja was covering up his inefficiencies when he charged n arrested Hichilema.

Tayali has been in Police custody from Thursday last week.
