Zambia: Now Kunda also tells Henry to leave MISA

Former Media institute of southern Africa MISA Zambia chapter chairperson Kunda Mwila has added his calls to have the MISA chairperson to resign.

Mr. Kunda says that the call by the two Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Zambia Chapter Board of Trustees for the organization’s chairperson Mr. Henry Kabwe to resign is long overdue.

He says that as a former MISA Zambia chairperson and founding member, the demand for Mr. Kabwe’s resignation or impeachment following financial irregularities cited in an audit report is not only a constitutional matter but also oscillates on moral, integrity and credibility of MISA Zambia.

He says that A letter has been sent to The National Governing Council (NGC) of MISA and the Board of Trustees to ask them to suspend Mr. Kabwe and his accomplices in the NGC or Secretariat from performing any duties with immediate effect.

He stated that The final verdict will determined by the upcoming MISA Zambia Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The Former MISA Zambia chairperson says MISA Zambia being an organization that has tasked itself to promote and defend freedom of expression and press freedom, and to take appropriate steps, its mandate and duty will be compromised if Mr. Kabwe continues to serve as the Chairperson without his case being cleared by Zambia Police or the Courts of Law.

This is according to a press statement obtained by Q fm.
