Zambia is officially the second largest market for Chinese investment in Africa.

Chinese ambassador to Zambia, Li Jie says the rule of law has made it possible for Chinese people to have confidence to invest in Zambia.

Mr. Li says the social stability that has been sustained in Zambia is an important aspect of the cooperation with China.

He says his hope is that with the gradual understanding of the Zambian market by Chinese companies, there will be further good prospects for mutual cooperation between the two Countries.

Mr. Li was speaking in Lusaka when he paid a courtesy call on Minister of Justice, Given Lubinda at his office.

Speaking earlier, Mr. Lubinda assured Mr. Li that government will continue creating an enabling environment for Chinese investment.

Mr. Lubinda says to this effect, government will make further clarification on the 20 percent sub contacting of all government projects to local contractors which some Chinese companies have expressed concerns on.

He says the Zambian people are however, concerned that some Chinese nationals have opted to stay after completing projects, and are taking up businesses the locals can easily do.
