Patriotic Front Chipangali council chairperson candidate Million Tembo has had to ward off insinuations that he has strong links to the UPND saying he only supported his son who stood on the opposition political party ticket in 2016.
Responding to a caller during the Big Issue Programme on Feel Free FM this morning, Tembo said he only campaigned for his son Josi Beats (artist) when he stood and won elections on a UPND ticket.
He said he had been contesting elections as an independent candidate since 2008.
Tembo who was confident of victory said Chipangali would develop for the better since it was now a district.
“President Edgar Chagwa Lungu adopted me to stand on PF ticket because he saw what I did and what I had started doing. Yes, I stood on my own in 2011, I came out number two, and I defeated UPND. In 2016, I also stood as an independent candidate for the Chipata mayoral seat and I came out number two,” Tembo said.
