Former Minister of Information and Broadcasting Chishimba Kambwili has revealed that Veteran Journalist Kenneth Maduma was fired by President Lungu’s Press Aide from ZNBC, the public broadcaster because of being Tonga by tribe.
Kambwili who at that time was the Minister in Charge of ZNBC said he had to confront President Edgar Lungu to explain why Amos Chanda his Press Aide was harassing media personnel without seeking consent or guidance from his Ministry.
“Amos Chanda instructed the firing of Kenneth Maduma at ZNBC simply because he is Tonga and its believed he was allowing statements attacking PF from the opposition. Its not me who fired Maduma and others,” Kambwili who is still the ruling PF’s Member of Parliament said.
Kambwili who is the shadow leader of the opposition NDC made the revelation today when he featured on UNZA Radio programme dubbed Lusaka star.
He also accused Chanda of having been behind the removing of Faith Kandaba from the newsroom for the same reason.
And Kambwili has called for mass demonstration to stop the corruption taking place in government.
He has continued his corruption allegations against President Lungu saying Zambians needs to be told where he got the money he declared during the presidential nominations for 2016.
Kambwili said it was high time that citizens stood up for themselves and demand answers on the dubious riches the President has acquired within a shot period of time after being elected President.
He described President Lungu as the number one corrupt person in the country and that if Zambians continue to watch the plunder of their resources no one will help them.
He called on Zambians to go in the streets and demand an end to the plunder of national resources by leaders.
“President Lungu is the number one corrupt person in Zambia. In 2015 he declared that he had K2million and 1 year later in 2016 he declared that he had 23million where did he get all that money within 1 year. He needs to tell Zambians the screte because everyone would want to know how to get rich so fast,” Kambwili said.
“As for the public we need to do a mass demonstration so that this peeson can tell us how he has gotten rich so fast. Zambians should stop watching people who are stealing from them. It is only Zambian who can stop he plunder of their resources by their leaders.”
